Text:
O'Leary, Timothy J. and Linda I. O'Leary, Computing Essentials (New York: McGraw-Hill Irwin, 2002)
You should bring your textbook to every class session. In addition to review and reinforcement, you should study the diagrams, flowcharts, etc carefully. The text should be your first resource when you encounter difficulty. The text comes with a lab program on CD which will reinforce important concepts.
Description:
Students will develop their computer skills in several ways: direct study of computer theory and anatomy, practice in application software, research and composition using computer resources, and managing real-world computer applications.
Grading:
This course operates on a point-accumulation system. Each Unit TEST is worth 50 - 100 points. Other assignments are given point values based on this fact: for instance, homework checks might be worth 5 to 15 points, a PQ worth 10 points, etc.
