Playing sports is integral to life On The Mountain; some 34 Warrior athletes were selected for All-Region or All-State teams in 2006-2007, from an Upper School numbering less than 100! In the coming year, we expect to field over two dozen teams, including about fifteen at the Varsity level.
All Sports Participants: Click on these links to download copies of the following forms you must complete to play interscholastic sports at OMA: Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Danger in Athletics waiver and release OMA Athletic Code of Ethics Note: These are all .pdf files.
Please make plans to attend the Back-to-School Picnic on Mon., August 13 from 5:00-7:00 PM, sit in on the general athletic meeting and receive a copy of the Student/Parent Athletic Handbook, which will provide a full picture of interscholastic competition and your responsibilities.
Free Sports Physical: Dr. Bobby Mitchell will offer GISA-approved physical examinations to OMA athletes on Thurs., August 2 from 8:00 AM to 12 N. Report to the Gym Lobby, no matter what season you intend to play. Thank you, Dr. Mitchell! If you are unable to attend that day, you must obtain a medical examination by a physician of your choice before participating in practices and games; however, the form provided by OMA must be used.
Athletic Survey: As we seek to improve our programs, part of the process is honest self-evaluation. I have created a survey to determine areas of particular value and those in need of attention in the OMA Athletic Department. Click Here to take the survey. All 6-12 students, student-athletes, parents and other OMA community members are encouraged to express their opinions via this survey. The Athletic Department is vitally interested in your input.
Email: You should receive both a hard copy and an electronic version of this information in an email by mid-June. If you do not, please send an email to stevecampbell@oakmountain.us and I will add you to the list. Electronic communication saves resources and can improve the quality of our program by enhancing dissemination of information like schedule changes or useful websites, timely exchanges in resolving problems and numerous other functions. Visit www.oakmountain.us regularly.
Information about specific sports seasons and sports teams is located on the Athletic Schedules page and other subpages of the Athletics menu.
